Blue Ridge Fire District
The Blue Ridge Fire District, an ISO 4/4Y class agency, formed in 1995, consists of 6.9 square miles that include the subdivisions of: Starlight Pines Ranchettes, Pine Canyon, Clear Creek Pines Units 8 & 9, Starlight Pines, Tamarron Pines, Timber Ridge, Blue Ridge Estates, Mogollon Ranch,
Moqui Ranchettes. The Blue Ridge Fire District is funded by property taxation of the residents of the District through the Coconino County Assessor with a current levy rate of $2.27 per $100 assessed property value.
The District also provides Emergency Medical Service (EMS) response and ambulance transport via Certificate of Necessity # 128 or CON #128, issued through the Arizona Department of Health Services. Our service area for EMS covers approximately 180 square miles of the forest and highways and also includes the NON-District communities of Clear Creek Pines units 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and Ponderosa Pines.
The District currently operates from 1 station, located at 5023 Enchanted Lane, Happy Jack, AZ 86024 operating under the name of Blue Ridge Fire Department. BRFD is a combination department utilizing full time, reserve (part-time) and volunteer staff. The station is normally staffed around the clock with 3 certified personnel that include 2 paramedic and 1 EMT firefighters. Reserve and Volunteer personnel are also used to fulfill staffing needs.
